National Disability Independence Day
The Americans with Disability Act (A.D.A.) was signed back in 1990 which introduced a special civil rights law into the books. This particular law meant that no individual with a disability can be treated differently or discriminated against in public accommodation, employment, transportation, and state and local government services.
Every step taken towards equality is a victory and this milestone was no different. This day unfolded the beginning of a new era which assured the active participation of disabled individuals in their society, independence, and financial security.
Let us keep striving to create a world where no voice goes on unheard!
